    August 20th, 2009 at 6:27 PM Adding
    Option SWCursor true
to the Device section in xorg.conf fixes the freeze problem, but as a side effect corruption appears around the cursor if compiz is enabled.
for installing fglrx, just boot in single user mode, rmmod radeon and drm and then run ati-driver-installer-9-8-x86.x86_64.run, there should be no errors. (Do not try to build Fedora/F10 packages under Fedora 11, it wont work)
